{"id":981,"date":"2018-02-23T16:53:39","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T16:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/?page_id=981"},"modified":"2018-02-23T16:53:39","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T16:53:39","slug":"nancy-marlowe-reimer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/nancy-marlowe-reimer\/","title":{"rendered":"Nancy Marlowe Reimer"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>A Beautiful Friendship<\/h1>\n<p>In 2010 when I met Holly, little did I know what a blessing she would be in my life.\u00a0 That year, our granddaughter Adelia was born and our co-grandmothering began.\u00a0 We have shared many really fun, magical moments, mainly due to Holly\u2019s enthusiastic spirit, her generosity and her kind, loving nature.\u00a0 She has become a dear friend, comforting and brilliant.\u00a0 I have very deep family roots in Dublin, New Hampshire and it amazes me that we never met or even ran into each other in the Dublin summers until my son Wes married her daughter Antonia in the fall of 2009.\u00a0 The following summer, Adelia was born and since then, we have enjoyed our time together as grandmothers and good friends.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of some of our shared times together:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Going to the <em>Nutcracker<\/em> ballet in Boston with Adelia and Greg, Holly\u2019s dear husband.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Christmas dinners in Dublin eating delicious Persian food on beautiful dishes from Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">A rainy day in the country attending an outdoor performance of <i>Charlie and the Chocolate Factory<\/i> with Adelia.\u00a0 There was a big tent for shelter and food, but we also had to wade through wet grass and lots of mud!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Adelia\u2019s July birthday parties in the beautiful barn on the Dublin property.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Sharing many of Adelia\u2019s dance recitals, Toni\u2019s dance performances in Brattleboro, Vermont, and Wes\u2019 Hug the Dog (his band) \u201cgigs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Taking a film class taught by Holly at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire.\u00a0 The theme of the films was women and children in Iran.\u00a0 It was well attended and Holly was a very engaging professor.\u00a0 I really loved\u00a0watching these films and learned a great deal about the Iranian culture, past and present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Meeting Maziar Bahari at a viewing of the movie <i>Rosewater<\/i> at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Taking belly dancing classes with Holly in the barn in Dublin one summer.\u00a0 I don\u2019t believe anyone else could have convinced me to belly dance.\u00a0 Naturally, it was lots of fun!<\/p>\n<p>I am most grateful, though, that Holly is a very supportive mother-in-law.\u00a0 She gives us all permission to love beauty in all its forms.\u00a0 What a gift!\u00a0 She is like a bright meteor soaring through a starlit night on her way to a glory land.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for sharing your journey with me and my family Holly.\u00a0 I love you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Beautiful Friendship In 2010 when I met Holly, little did I know what a blessing she would be in my life.\u00a0 That year, our granddaughter Adelia was born and our co-grandmothering began.\u00a0 We have shared many really fun, magical moments, mainly due to Holly\u2019s enthusiastic spirit, her generosity and her kind, loving nature.\u00a0 She &hellip; <\/p>\n<p class=\"link-more\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/nancy-marlowe-reimer\/\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> &#8220;Nancy Marlowe Reimer&#8221;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/981"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=981"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/981\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":982,"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/981\/revisions\/982"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.thehollyfest.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=981"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
