Notes:

Sicily is a big island, so let me try to place our temple on a map of Sicily. This particular map purports to show the native or autochthonous populations of Sicily before the Phoenicians, Greeks, and eventually the Romans settled there. The Elymians shared Sicily with the Sikanii and the Sikuli and inhabited the westernmost region of the island. Segesta, the site of our temple, was thought to be their political center; and Eryx (modern Erice) was their religious center.
